Description of duties JOB DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent will serve as a member of a broad, dynamic, and internationally recognized faculty in crop agriculture. This new, non-tenure-track position will be in the Department of Crop Sciences, with supported interest from both the Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station and University of Illinois Extension.

The successful candidate will foster the development of water quality improvements through collaborative, interdisciplinary projects involving identified Illinois landowners, producers, and other stakeholders with the goal of advancing those management practices for crop inputs needed to improve water stewardship efforts and outcomes.

Qualifications sought A Ph.D. in agronomic or soil science or a related discipline is required.

Knowledge of field crop production, crop nutrients, nutrient cycling, water quality, and soil and pest management is highly desirable.

The successful applicant must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills; demonstrate clear desire and ability to propose, conduct, and report independent and team-based research; and demonstrate desire and ability to develop a successful Extension program in water quality as related to crop and soil management practices.
