Description of duties JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board (MSPB) is pleased to announce the Billy Moore Soybean Doctoral Fellowship within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Mississippi State University (MSU). This fellowship is for the study of soybean production issues in the field of Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, or Weed Science.

Description of duties:

  • Pursue course of study to culminate in awarding of Ph.D. degree
  • Plan and conduct research studies to address soybean production issues/problems in field of agronomy (plant and soil science), entomology, pathology, or weed science
  • Work with major professor and other CALS faculty to gain experience in plant/soil/pest disciplines that are related to soybean production
Qualifications sought
  • Hold an MS degree from an accredited institution
  • Have an undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or greater and graduate GPA of 3.25 or greater
  • Must be accepted into a doctoral program in an appropriate MSU-CALS department, and submit proof of such
  • Letter explaining interest in soybean production and related issues, and becoming agronomist or soybean scientist
  • Resume that includes work experience, educational background, and undergraduate and graduate transcripts; teaching, research, and extension experiences
