Description of duties

I am seeking a highly motivated and curious Master/PhD student to conduct research of weed science and crop protection. 

The successful candidate will be expected to lead laboratory, greenhouse and/or field research to investigate molecular and physiological basis of weedy plants and crops, identify herbicide-resistant mechanisms in resistant weeds and develop effective weed-management strategies.  The successful candidate will be fully funded on a graduate research assistantship in University of Idaho.

You will have the opportunity to:

Design and develop research related to weed science, herbicide physiology, and crop protection

Conduct comprehensive experiments in laboratory, greenhouse and field

Present research seminars, participate in professional meetings, and publish peer-reviewed scientific journal

Qualifications sought

Strong interest and a prior degree in weed science, biology, plant physiology, biochemistry, Agronomy or related discipline

Experience of molecular and/or biochemistry research

Outstanding academic record and GRE scores

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Must meet all requirements for admission to the University of Idaho

Good understanding of weed physiology and herbicide application are desired.
