Description of Location This job operates in both business settings and a production agricultural environment. Office and administrative duties for this position will be home-based unless residing within daily travel distance to the corporate office in Davis, CA.

Description of duties The Agronomic Development Manager – USA, will oversee the efforts of product development as pertaining to field trials, technical support and product refinement and will supervise all US field development staff.  The position will be a key team member working closely with the Country Head, Global Development and Regulatory staff, and the National Sales Manager.  You will

  • Design activities to support development, registrations, and marketing efforts of the US team
  • Assess, develop, and launch new products
  • Evaluate new products and new product concepts for fit in US crops and production models, producing analyses that can be used in marketing and communications materials
  • Develop and manage national field trial plans and budgets to yield data for registration, regulatory and marketing needs through the efforts of Development Representatives
  • Lead the Development team in the US and ensure the group alwasy uses good field practices and testing protocols
  • Assure the group accurately and completely compiles data in manner that is searchable and usable for the business and available for future use
  • Assure all testing and development is conducted according to all laws and regulatory agencies’ fules
  • Manage all US product development segments to assure products are adequately field tested
  • Manage all budget processes associated with field trial expenses both in forecasting and executing budgets
  • Plan biological testing in conjunction with company strategies
  • Coordinate schedules with Product Regulatory to minimize registration time, expense, and risk
  • Build positive relationships with key influencers at universities and other research locations as well as key grower companies
  • Expand a database of field data supportive of sales efforts in US
Qualifications sought
  • Successful history of managing technically-based teams
  • Strong experience with crop protection products and agronomic practices. Experience with biological products is preferred
  • Deep understanding of agronomy in US crops, including statistical analysis and field trial design
  • Successful history creating and implementing strategic plans, annual and long-term budgets and staff or team direction
  • A proven track record of working in a team atmosphere and developing new products
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Available and willing to travel up to 40%
  • Must have valid driver’s license and pass DMV background check
  • Master’s Degree in Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science, Agronomy, Chemistry or other crop production discipline
  • 5 years experience in agronomic development or other practical agricultural science
  • Able to lift and carry 25 lbs. and pass respirator and other safety training
