Description of duties

The primary responsibilities of this role, Supply Chain Specialist II, are to: 


  • Manage regional seed inventory for 2-4 crops. This includes ensuring accurate levels of inventory are available in order for on-time delivery to the customer, deciding which seed lots should be discarded, directing the restocking of distribution centers and monitoring the quality of the inventory;
  • Determine proper actions that need to be taken in order to ensure optimal utilization of the seed inventory;
  • Manage, organize and execute quality processing, outsource treatments, and final processing of seed;
  • Determine and analyze inventory deviations, then monitor and report status to key stakeholders;
  • Set processing and testing priorities and manage expectations with schedulers and other stakeholders. Initiate and manage seed allocation to all processing and sales orders;
  • Responsible for daily/monthly reporting and analysis;
  • Communicate key supply chain metrics needed for stakeholders;
  • Review seed returned from Bayer entities and other customers; Validate that the reason is justified and the correct measures are taken to investigate if seeds can be returned to inventory.
Qualifications sought
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agronomy, Supply Chain or related Field;
  • Five (5) years of experience in Logistics/Supply Chain; preferably in seed or agriculture business;
  • Highly detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proactive with experience managing multiple priorities, often under deadline and in a high stress environment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products: Highly proficient in Excel;
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with different levels of stakeholders;
  • Must be persuasive/influential and have the ability to establish good rapport with stakeholders;
  • Ability to drive results and demonstrate proactive leadership within supply chain.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with ERP systems.
