Description of duties | General Summary: Scotts products must be tested and appropriately labeled prior to distribution, sale and use. Regulations such as those implemented by CPSC, DOT, EPA, OSHA and state laws (e.g. Prop 65) require classification and labeling for consumer and professional products distributed, sold or used in North America. The Senior Toxicologist will be independently responsible for determining toxicology testing and/or data waiver strategies and conducting risk assessments to support product launches. The Senior Toxicologist will manage GLP, non-GLP and in vitro toxicology studies and/or authoring waiver requests; develop product precautionary labeling; and report adverse effects. In addition, the Senior Toxicologist will develop external relationships with trade associations, government regulators, task forces, and will proactively address product safety issues that will impact our business.
