Graduate Research Assistantship (MS) with New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM

Type of position A MS level Graduate Research Assistantship is available to conduct research on the integration of strategies for disease and weed suppression in chile pepper. The project will involve field studies on commercial farms, as well as greenhouse and laboratory studies on the main campus of New Mexico State University. The project will provide opportunities for outreach. Research will be conducted under the guidance of Dr. Brian Schutte and Dr. Soum Sanogo within the Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology and Weed Science (http://eppws.nmsu.edu/).

Description of duties

Field, greenhouse and laboratory research on weed and plant disease management.

Qualifications sought

Preferred qualifications include: B.S. in a plant sciences or biology discipline, experience in field and laboratory settings, the ability to communicate in both writing and orally, and a desire to learn statistical techniques.
