Description of duties
 
Position Summary
In this role, you will bring expert knowledge of sprayer technology, components, and systems as they are applied to sprayer products in major precision agriculture markets. You’ll have the opportunity to work with the Intelligent Ag (IAS) team, stakeholders, customers, and other subject matter experts to set the overall technical and business direction for the Ag Spray and application systems product line. You will participate in all aspects of related product development projects including conceptualization, design, development, testing, selection, deployment, and post-implementation support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage Ag Spray and Application Systems portfolio of products – systems, sensors, components & software
  • Meet with customers and develop strategic customer relationships
  • Promote products at trade shows or key customer events
  • Supply product specifications to Marketing and ensure that all relevant data sheets and documents are current
  • Work with Marketing to ensure that Ag-related media (Powerpoints, videos, websites, etc) are current and in alignment with company goals
  • Compile competitive products information and develop talking points for sales and marketing
  • Identify potential new product opportunities and strategic partnerships
  • Create and maintain the roadmap of Ag Spray and Application Systems Products
  • Work with IAS leadership to continually and significantly grow product line revenues and ROI
  • Maintain product definition & business case throughout the project
  • Understand how the customer purchases, installs and uses the product
  • Participate in prototype testing
  • Collaborate with project management in tracking each project and the non-project work to consolidate program benefits
  • Interact with the Sales team, Support team, and Technical Managers on support issues
  • Keep current with the status of projects, projects deliverables, milestones, and production readiness
  • Understand product performance utilizing RMAs and Service data
  • Research and plan any certification requirements for products and product lines
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications sought
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Completed Undergraduate Degree (BS – Ag discipline preferred) and/or training or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of project and of product management experience in an agriculture equipment company preferred
  • Expert knowledge of sprayer technology, components, and systems
  • Understanding of regulatory and certification requirement for agricultural sprayers
  • Ag products, systems, and product development process knowledge
  • Ag products, sales, distribution, and customer support knowledge
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Discipline to follow and enforce development and design processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with agronomy and/or general crop production practices and principles
