Graduate Research Assistantship (MS) with the University of Maine in Orono, ME with University of Maine in Orono, ME

Type of position A MS level Graduate Research Assistantship is available to conduct applied research on ferns as weed species in organic wild blueberry production. The student will explore the weed phenology and organic weed management in a perennial cropping system. The project will involve field and laboratory studies in addition to Extension education opportunities. Research will be conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lily Calderwood within the School of Food and Agriculture at the University of Maine (https://umaine.edu/foodandagriculture/graduate-programs/).

Field and laboratory research and extension on integrated weed management for this economically important crop to Maine 

Qualifications sought

Preferred qualifications include: B.S. in a plant sciences or biology discipline, experience in field and laboratory settings, the ability to communicate in both writing and orally, and a desire to learn statistical techniques.
