Description of duties

Opportunity to conduct original research with a weed ecology and management focus in field and forage cropping systems. Projects may include greenhouse, field and on-farm research aimed at negotiating production and conservation tradeoffs in sustainable cropping systems. Project focus areas may include: evaluating cover cropping tactics for management and prevention of herbicide-resistant weeds, advancing intercropping practices in field crops, or weed management practices in reduced-tillage organic systems. Graduate students will have the opportunity to receive training in Weed Science and Agroecology, engage in extension activities, and participate in multi-disciplinary cropping system studies.   

Qualifications sought

B.S. or M.S. in Agronomy, Horticulture, Ecology or related fields. Strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Previous research experience in Weed Science, Agronomy or Agroecology is desired.
