Description of duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all phases of the Weed Science Group programs with specific duties that include grant proposal writing, design, completion, evaluation, and publication of laboratory, greenhouse and growth chamber studies, and presentation of research results in conferences.  The incumbent will lead projects related to herbicide resistance in weed species using biochemical, physiological, and molecular approaches, including the use of next-generation sequencing technologies.  The incumbent will also collaborate and assist project personnel, graduate students, OSU faculty, and collaborating research and extension programs with general research activities.  Additional responsibilities include mentoring graduate students in the Weed Science Group with thesis research and supervising undergraduate student workers.  

Qualifications sought

PhD in Weed Science/Ecology, Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture, or related fields

Additional Information This position as an agriculture (field crops) Postdoctoral Scholar Position is a fixed-term, 12-month appointment with assignment to the Weed Science Project in the Dept. of Crop and Soil Science. The incumbent contributes to the missions of Oregon State University Extension Service (OSUES) and Agricultural Experiment Station (OSUAES) with principle responsibility for providing research and technical support for the Weed Science Research and Extension programs.
