Description of duties

The successful candidate will contribute to a better understanding of mechanism of herbicide-resistant weeds found in major crops in Arkansas. Field trials will be conducted involving integrated weed management approaches to address multiple herbicide-resistant weeds in Arkansas cropping systems. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with other faculty across the state and participate in team directed research across areas of emphasis that include weed management practices.  Duties and responsibilities include: conducting field and greenhouse-based research; conducting laboratory-based experiments including molecular weed biology, enzyme assays, and techniques for using radiolabeled herbicides; organizing and analyzing data, writing, presenting research results in peer-reviewed journals and extension publications; presenting results at Extension and scientific meetings; and assisting with supervision of graduate students. 

Qualifications sought

PhD in weed science or closely related field and demonstrated publication record are required.
