The Weed Science Society of America (WSSA) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Constitution and Operating Procedures Chair (COPC). Dr. Mark Bernard has served in this capacity and plans to step down in 2020. The Constitution and Operating Procedures Chair (COPC) is appointed by the Board of Directors to a three-year, renewable term and 1) serves as chair of the Constitution and Operating Procedures Committee and, with the committee, propose desirable updates or revisions to the Constitution and the Manual of Operating Procedures; 2) ensure that current copies of the Constitution and Manual of Operating Procedures are available on the WSSA website (http://wssa.net); 3) provide each new officer or committee chair with a copy of the Manual of Operating Procedures and highlight their responsibilities; and 4) Serve as the Board of Directors liaison to committees as assigned by the President-Elect.

The application period will end on November 1, 2019, or until a suitable candidate is identified. Ideally, the individual selected would be available to assume responsibilities in February 2020. WSSA Board experience is desirable but not required.
