Description of duties

Please note: Position located in Greensboro, NC – Syngenta relocation benefits available.

What You Will Do:
As an integral member of the Technical Support team, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert in Weed Science to resolve product inquiries and issues while delivering an excellent customer/end user experience.

• Acts as primary escalation point for weed science related customer inquiries
• Lead the support and communication efforts for herbicide product information, knowledge management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• Review labels prior to submission to EPA and white papers as required prior to distribution to assure that the language is appropriate for the intended use
• Participate in product liability matters including claims and litigations by collaboratively investigating and evaluating cases to determine cause and proper resolution for the customer.
• Supports the soil and tissue sampling process and provides analytical reports and resulting interpretations to aid field sales in complaint resolution
• Provide support (technical reviews, training input) for new herbicide introductions
• Supports development and implementation of herbicide stewardship plans (resistance monitoring, off-target movement reporting, application requirements – nozzles and tank mixtures)
• Collaborates with other technical functions including Analytical Services, Regulatory, Application and Formulation Technology and Product Marketing to positively influence product performance complaints, label revisions and product stewardship
• Communicates regularly with herbicide technical product representatives to review crop response, product handling and performance to ensure awareness of the challenges and propose potential solutions
• Collaborate with Technical Training, Product Marketing and Agronomy team to identify training needs and develop herbicide and weed science technical information for training sessions. Audiences include Syngenta sales force, legal and external customers

Qualifications sought

Who You Are:

• Familiarity with the product registration requirements and processes at a federal and state level.
• Superior technical knowledge of herbicides including an understanding of product life-cycle management stages and support requirements
• Exceptional listening, cross functional engagement, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. These communication skills will be utilized in a variety of settings including sales and state and federal agency meetings; training workshops; and testimony at depositions and trials.
• Familiarity with legal process of civil cases
• Strong planning, organization and project management skills
• Ability to travel up to 15%

You Have:

• Master’s Degree in Agricultural Science with emphasis on weed science, plant pathology and/or entomology.
• 10+ years of experience in Crop Protection or closely related field (3-5 of those years in field experience).

You Might Also Have:

• Doctorate Degree in an agricultural science with emphasis in weed science
• 5+ years of field experience in the Crop Protection business
