Description of duties
  • The candidate will contribute to the development of integrated weed management tactics with particular focus on preventing/managing herbicide-resistant weeds.
  • Specific research areas include, but not limited to, weed ecology & biology and development of novel weed management tactics.
  • The candidate will collaborate with other A&M system scientists and colleagues at other institutions. We are an active partner of the GROW team and opportunities exist for collaborating with other team members nationwide.
  • Preparation of research and outreach articles and publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals and Extension outlets is an important expectation.
  • The candidate will contribute to securing extramural grant support to the program.
  • It is also expected that the candidate will assist and mentor graduate students in the research group.
Qualifications sought PhD in weed science or closely related field, strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrated publication record are required. Preference will be given to candidates within 4 yrs after PhD.
