| Description of duties |
The primary purpose of this role is to plan and lead the development of new herbicide active ingredients and continued expansion of existing registered herbicide products within the North America Region, with special emphasis for fulfilling needs of the USA corn and soybean markets. In this role, you will be responsible for product use directions and supporting information, coordinating these activities with other departments and biological development groups to ensure new and continued registration of products.
The incumbent will:
- Plan and lead the technical development of compounds in experimental and commercial stages. Ensure that product strategies are technically sound and technical components of the asset plans are aligned with product strategy;
- Determine the appropriate pest spectrum controlled, crops, rates, formulation, application methods and timings and strategies for product labels;
- Serve as a core Asset Portfolio Team or Project Team member, providing strategic direction in biological positioning of new or existing products;
- Develop innovative programs that maximize resource efficiencies and expedite the registration process. Explore novel application techniques and anticipates unique product performance opportunities based on detailed understanding of biological, physical, and chemical attributes;
- Manage administration and distribution of grant in aid and product samples. Manage product performance data for summaries, analysis, recommendations, storage and retrieval including preparation of final annual report summarizing test results and providing recommendations for future testing for assigned products;
- Coordinate and lead product training for internal personnel and external customers and influencers.

| Qualifications sought |
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
- A Ph.D. in an agricultural science or related biological science with 2 years of relevant experience or an M.S. degree with 6 years of relevant experience;
- Excellent oral, written and network communication skills to effectively inform and influence asset and crop teams;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Aptitude to understand and create long-term strategic plans, including partnerships with groups preparing new products for testing and potential market launch
- A proven work history of acting as a team player with outstanding organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to work with marketing, regulatory, and D&MS counterparts to maximize sales and portfolio development opportunities;
- Understanding of production agriculture (growers) with experience Midwest corn and soybean agriculture.
- General computer proficiency including standard software (Microsoft Office Suite, ARM).
