| Description of duties |
Role Purpose
The Corn Marker Project Coordinator role is to support the corn Germplasm Project Teams (GPTs) and the corn Native Trait (NT) projects through the coordination of all marker and marker related activities. The Coordinator will work closely with key Functional Leads including the marker lab, greenhouse, winter and summer nurseries, Genetic Information Managers (GIMs), and GPT/NT Project Leads to coordinate, schedule, and execute marker related projects.
Accountabilities
- Help to plan, coordinate, schedule, execute and monitor all marker related projects across the GPTs and NT projects. This includes integrated marker projects that utilize other technologies (such as Doubled Haploids) in conjunction with marker technologies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a common/standardized project tracking format. This would include regular and timely updates of the master project file/database.
- Work with key functional leads on scheduling projects through the various steps to provide appropriate capacity and demand planning between the projects and various functions.
- Ensure projects are meeting specified deadlines and milestones and provide regular updates on pipeline/project status to the appropriate Project Leads.
- Help in the development of, or improvement of, protocols or methodologies for marker related projects.
- Link with Product Development Functional Planner as needed to support Workslate demand and capacity planning activities.

Critical knowledge:
- Good understanding of breeding or molecular marker principles is preferred.
- Experience or understanding of breeding and/or molecular markers is preferred.
- Experience coordinating large/complex projects or formal Project Management training is preferred.
- M.S. (or B.S. with 5+ years of research experience) in breeding, molecular breeding, agriculture, project planning or related discipline.

- Demonstrated experience with specific projects, success in project planning, or a related area.
