This includes the evaluation of product efficacy for pesticides, inoculants, plant growth regulators, adjuvants, fertilizers, seed treatments, and the testing of new genetic traits. Description of duties
  • Coordinate and conduct research for agronomic and regulatory field trials.
  • Plan, design and summarize data.
  • Operate small farm equipment for seeding, spraying, maintenance and harvest of crops.
  • Sample plots, collect data, evaluate product performance.
Qualifications sought
  • M.S or PhD in Agronomy, Plant Science, Crop and Weed Sciences, Plant Pathology or closely related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, organization, and record keeping.
  • Willing to travel periodically and complete tasks requiring extended work hours when necessary.
  • Capable of physical tasks such as lifting, carrying a hand-held sprayer, walking in fields, and operating farm equipment.
  • Experience in the conduct of field efficacy and/or plant breeding trials.
  • Experience in experimental design, data analysis and summary.
  • Software: Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with ARM, GenStat and SAS would be helpful.
  • Experience with the following crops would be helpful: canola, wheat, pea, corn, soybean, sunflower, flax, lentil, dry bean.
