| Description of duties |
Serve as Study Director for regulatory field studies. Plan and design study protocols to meet current data requirements for product approvals. Coordinate with Regulatory Product Operations group to ensure that studies fulfill product submission objectives. Monitor study progress through completion, and communicate potential delays in established timelines. Work with internal Quality Assurance Unit to identify suitable facilities and Principal Investigators for conducting off-site studies.
Coordinate sample analysis with internal and external laboratories, while ensuring study timelines are maintained. Review study results and coordinate statistical analysis and reporting of results. Review study reports and answer questions posed by reviewers. Work with internal Quality Assurance Unit and contractor’s Quality Assurance Unit to ensure that studies are adequately monitored in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices guidelines. Develop and revise relevant Standard Operating Procedures as needed. Visit field and laboratory test sites to review techniques and overall compliance associated with the conduct of regulatory field studies. Maintain understanding of state, federal, and corporate regulations associated with testing of regulated biotech plants.
Draft and publish study results in peer-reviewed journals as appropriate to demonstrate or validate the safety of Pioneer’s biotechnology products. Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, and evaluate employee performance. May serve on teams or special projects appropriate to specific research projects.

| Qualifications sought |
PhD in biological science, agriculture, or scientific field and minimum of 4 to 6 years of industry related experience required, or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience. Post doctoral experience may serve as experience.
Knowledge of plant breeding and biotechnology, and traditional crop protection products. Strong experience working on complex, multi-phase projects in a team environment including external and internal team members. Experience with field studies involving regulated biotechnology products and/or regulated conventional pesticides. Experience coordinating and/or monitoring multi-site field studies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Familiarity with computers and statistical analysis. Prefer experience summarizing and analyzing study data and publishing results in refereed scientific journals. Prefer 2 years experience as Study Director or 5 years experience as study participant in GLP studies.
