Description of duties This position offers you the opportunity to play a key role within the expanding R&D organization of a global S&P 500 leader. You will enjoy a high degree of independence as you champion the evaluation of herbicide products and technologies towards the development, optimization and expansion of crop and specialty use concepts and products.

Far from being confined to one or two aspects of research, you will focus biological efforts on all aspects of herbicide evaluations for crop and non-crop opportunities.

Qualifications sought To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • A PhD in Weed Science, Agronomy, or related applied life science with at least three years of experience, or a master’s degree in Weed Science, Agronomy, or related applied life science and at least six years of experience in an applied herbicide or related applied pesticide academic or industrial R&D program.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial herbicides and a strategic understanding of agricultural chemical markets.
  • An understanding of economic, competitive, and practical use factors affecting opportunities in herbicide markets, as well as a working knowledge of current and development herbicide products.
  • Extensive experience in conducting laboratory, greenhouse and field herbicide bioassays against a range of weed species across various crop and non-crop segments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and integrating new bioassays to understand activity of herbicide leads and various product concepts.
