Description of duties
  • Determine appropriate recommendations and technical positioning for AgriSolutions and Croplan Genetics regarding agronomic practices and products used in the regional trade territory.
  • Provide sound agronomic support to all appropriate personnel in Land O’ Lakes and member cooperatives.
  • Development of the “Expert Seller” Enhance technical expertise for effective, efficient and profitable marketing of products and services to our key accounts and their customers.
  • Through agronomic assistance to customers, create a competitive advantage for AgriSolutions and Croplan Genetics sales/marketing areas.
  • Utilize agronomic expertise and anticipation of agronomic trends to improve market positioning and profitability of AgriSolutions and Croplan Genetics.
  • These functions are supported by activities such as: In depth training/ sales staff support for aligned accounts, Answer plot training/product positioning, On-site Training, On-site Sales Support, Technical Bulletins, Agronomy Alerts, Agronomy Bulletins, Crop Tips, In-field training, Field/Agronomy Updates, traditional classroom training, Sales Support tools and programs, field diagnostics, complaint resolution, quick response access to agronomic information by phone and/or email, CCA training, training materials, marketing and advertising ideas and tools.
  • Serve as technical resource for AgriSolutions in product development.
  • Serve as primary contact with universities for product testing.
Qualifications sought Advanced degree, MS or PhD, in agronomy or closely aligned field. Minimum of 5 years of field experience. Individuals with BS degrees who possess extensive industry and field experience will be considered.Delivers clear, concise and effective verbal and written messages appropriate to one’s audience(s).

Establishes and sustains strong working relationships with associates, customers and business partners.

Responds appropriately and takes personal responsibility for meeting customers’ expectations; maintains effective communications with customers; works to improve service with customers by knowing and anticipating customers’ needs and matching needs to products/services.
