Role Purpose/Accountabilities:

  • Role purpose
  • Lead and manage the development of integrated crop solutions triggering label changes requiring regulatory actions or requiring significant data generation to fill knowledge gaps / IP solutions.
  • Provide the technical coordination of R&D field trials to deliver integrated solutions (including all assets – chemistry / biological / seeds / traits / adjacent technologies) at scale across Regions / Territories.
  • Lead operations and logistical aspects of crop integrated solutions projects and knowledge networks.
  • Provide technical guidance resulting from R&D integrated solutions development to aid in the design and piloting of commercial offers working closely with commercial Regions / Terrtories solutions teams.
  • Support Crop R&D Lead and Seed R&D Head to provide genetic, crop protection and agronomic expertise to the Crop Team.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate, design (including protocol development, trial implementation and data capture) and report (including data analysis and interpretation) X-Region / X-Territory integrated solutions field trials
  • Ensure alignment of R&D integrated crop technical solutions protocols with commercial technical functions within Regions / Territories as appropriate
  • Work closely with Crop R&D CP Leads, Seeds R&D Heads, and Product Biology Technical Managers to develop integrated crop solution protocols based on crop business objectives
  • Ensure data is generated to meet regulatory requirements to support the commercialization of desired integrated crop solutions
  • Develop crop technical expertise to improve skills in the establishment of integrated solutions
  • Identify intellectual property opportunities
  • Monitor competitor activities and changes in crop production technologies / trends
  • Provide technical recommendations to assist Region / Territory ‘commercial’ solutions teams with design of local integrated solutions offers / protocols, where necessary / requested
  • Foster technical networking, incorporating SE R&D, CP R&D and SC R&D, Region / Territory solutions managers and crop experts, key country experts / specialists etc., as well as actively seeking contacts with customers and key influencers to develop and support integrated solutions.
  • Translate performance data into compelling messages that appeal to customers and key influencers, actively looking for new approaches to enhance or reposition Syngenta‚Äôs value proposition
  • Support data search, information gathering and provision of technical insights, including for adjacent technologies, in line with crop strategy needs
  • Ensure a functional crop knowledge network

Additional Information:

  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US
  • 50% global / regional travel required
  • Must sign a Non-Complete if offered this position
Qualifications sought Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Critical knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge of the crop and agronomy by Region / Territory
  • Solid understanding of crop production technologies and principles
  • Design, implementation, data capture and reporting of field trials
  • Good understanding / networking within R&D, Crop and Asset organizations and processes

Critical experience:

  • Well developed R&D networks, both internal / external
  • Proven team player with solid networking capabilities
  • Negotiation skills

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

  • Formal science based education (MSc level or higher preferred)
  • Experience in agricultural sciences and technologies
  • Solid understanding of commercial crop production systems and needs
  • Ability to influence and build consensus in teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Critical leadership capabilities:

  • Delivering against ambitious goals
  • Focusing energy on must wins and working with priorities
  • Leading within dispersed teams
