Description of duties JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Pursue course of study to culminate in awarding of Ph.D. degree.
  • Plan and conduct research studies to address soybean production issues/problems in field of agronomy (plant and soil science), entomology, pathology, or weed science.
  • Work with major professor and other CALS faculty to gain experience in plant/soil/pest disciplines that are related to soybean production.
Qualifications sought
  • US citizen
  • Hold an M.S. degree from an accredited institution
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or greater and graduate GPA of 3.25 or greater
  • Must be accepted into a doctoral program in an appropriate MSU-CALS department, and submit proof of such

Additional Information The fellowship is 3-year program with salary stipend in 12 monthly installments in each year. Applicant must express intention to complete all requirements for Ph.D. degree; applicant must make contact with MSU-CALS faculty member to secure Major Professor commitment; Once selected, must maintain GPA of 3.25 or greater; Must submit a project proposal to MSPB to obtain funding of up to $30,000/yr for research funding.
