Description of duties JOB DESCRIPTION: Contribute to the development of integrated weed management programs with particular focus on preventing/managing herbicide-resistant weeds in corn and soybean.

  • The candidate will collaborate with other University of Nebraska scientists and colleagues at other institutions.
  • The candidate is expected to attend professional meetings, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to securing extramural grant support to the program.
  • It is also expected that the candidate will assist and mentor graduate and under graduate students in the research group.
  • Active contribution in weed science extension and outreach programs
Qualifications sought Ph.D. in weed science or closely related field, strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrated publication record are required. Preference will be given to candidate with research experience in gene flow, herbicides, and working knowledge of statistical tools such as R, SAS and Sigma Plot. Experience to weed ecology, and modeling would be an added advantage.
