We are seeking a key BASF Field Research and Development representative/ Biologist III for the West Coast territories of CA, AZ, Utah, HI, Nevada, and other areas as needed.

Biologist III (1603103) – West Coast

Formula for Success: You Will…

• Manage field trials and relationships with university and private cooperators in CA, AZ, Utah, HI, Nevada, and other areas as necessary.
• Provide technical advice and input on field trial protocol development and design.
• Manage data entry, summarization and communication of results.
• Conduct internal data summary presentations. Provide commercially pertinent information to Tech Service and Sales teams. Conduct external presentations in professional meetings.
• Maintain awareness of competitive commercial and developmental compounds and communicate pertinent information to Biology and Tech Service colleagues.
• Communicate with and actively support RTP-based Biology Project Leaders as well as local Tech Service demonstration efforts.
• Employ innovative and entrepreneurial thinking in finding new opportunities for our crop protection products.

Qualifications – BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

• Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
• Ph.D. Degree in an agronomy field like Weed Science, Entomology, or Plant Pathology and minimum of 2 years field research experience in field and specialty crops OR Master’s Degree of Science in an agronomy field like Weed Science, Entomology, or Plant Pathology and minimum of 5 years field research experience in field and specialty crop
• Working knowledge of crop production and pest management practices of field and specialty crops.
• Solid knowledge of pesticide chemistries and modes of action.
• Proficient in small plot research including plot design, layout, analysis, calibration, spraying, and data collection and strong statistical and analytical skills important to interpret field data.
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency with ARM, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated excellent teamwork, leadership, self-motivation, and time management skills
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
