Our services primarily focus on native plan installations, weed control, and wildfire fuels reduction. We offer a challenging outdoor work experience in some of the Bay Area’s most scenic locations.

Description of duties Restoration Technicians generally work together as a crew doing hands-on, physically demanding landscape work in parks, wildlands, and wetlands.  Daily tasks include: native plat and weed identification, weed removal, mowing and chainsaw work, herbicide application, irrigation, and plant installation.
Qualifications sought Physical Requirement

  • Above average stamina and sound physical condition
  • Ability to maneuver on rough terrain and slopes while operating tools
  • Ability to hike with at 45 pound backpack for an extended period of time
  • Ability to bend frequently or work on knees for an extended period of time.
  • Tolerance for variable weather conditions and occasional poison oak exposure

Minimum Qualifications

  • General outdoor and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of common Bay Area weeds and native plants
  • Experience with hand and power tools (drills, chainsaws, brush-cutters, ect.).
  • Experience in park maintenance, landscaping or other construction trades.
  • CA driver license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or degree relevant to biology, horticulture, or plant taxonomy
  • Work experience in Habitat restoration, park landscape maintenance, wildfire prevention, trail maintenance, or other work involving daily physical labor relevant to resource managment.
  • Knowledge of small-engine maintenance and general shop repair work.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • First Aid or Wilderness First Aid certification
  • Possession of a valid Qualified Applicator Certificate from CA DPR.
