Description of duties | The Agronomy Lab at CSU-Chico is hiring a full-time research associate/ postdoc to manage cover crop fields and greenhouse trials at the University Farm, CSU-Fresno, and various locations in California. The projects’ focus is comparing the potential of newly developed fava bean lines in cover crop mixes under varying cultural practices and environmental conditions. The successful applicant will lead the efforts of providing best cover crop practices guidance for CA growers. It’s expected that the applicant engages graduate and undergraduate students in research projects and contributes to education and research programs at University Farm. The incumbent will work directly with Drs. Zakeri and Brasier at CSU-Chico and other research collaborators at CSU-Fresno, NRCS, and industry collaborators to deliver the project’s outcome in a timely manner. In addition to day-to-day tasks of sampling, sample processing, data management, data analysis, reporting, and publications, the successful candidate is expected to supervise and train undergraduate students to conduct research and present in professional meetings and conferences. |
