Description of duties |
Where the Chemistry Happens This Biology R&D Precision Application & Digital Farming role will report to the Head, Precision Application and Technology & Knowledge Systems and contribute toward BASF’s vision for digital transformation and sustainable agriculture. The selected candidate will design, conduct, and analyze studies evaluating the physical and biological performance of precision application technologies including smart sprayer and drones used for the application of crop protection products. Supports connectivity of knowledge systems and technology in Biology R&D greenhouse, lab and field operations. Responsible for collection and analysis of remote sensing and aerial imagery data from R&D crop protection field trials for evaluation of crop health, and pest control and precision application. The position will support Biology teams in the US and Canada. Formula for Success Design and conduct R&D Biology testing/trials to support the optimal use of BASF crop protection products utilizing precision application technologies with UAVs and smart sprayers. Evaluate various factors and conditions for optimal performance of crop protection products, including UAV platforms, nozzle / boom configurations, formulations, and control systems.
