Type of position | Position Details:
Summary of Duties: This position provides program management and leadership for Washington pesticide pre-license and recertification specialty courses for continuing education for certified applicators. Responsibilities include working with WSU faculty & staff and industry professionals to capture their knowledge into online modules, assessing training needs, facility scheduling/contracts, program development, speaker arrangements, presentation development and delivery, audiovisual support, course evaluation, training staff, budget supervision, and webinar management. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related program experience. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. WSDA license or able to obtain within 90 days of hire Washington State Department of Agriculture Public Operator License. Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire. Required Field: M.S. degree in Entomology, Weed Science, Plant Pathology, IPM, Environmental Science, or related field. Experience in education or research in the following areas: pesticide pre-license training, integrated vegetation management, or insect or disease, regulations, or stewardship programs. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership qualities. Demonstrated grantsmanship and experience managing budgets. Experience with computer software, including desktop publishing and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using and troubleshooting a wide variety of audiovisual equipment. Experience in producing video and multimedia presentations. Demonstrated time management skills. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated Spanish language skills: oral and written. Ability to reason logically, make sound decisions, and consider alternative and diverse perspectives. Interact with all people in a positive manner. |
