MS/PhD opening in digital weed science

Description of Duties

MS/PhD assistantship is available at the Weed Bionomics Laboratory, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama in the area of remote sensing/GIS and AI/ML for weed detection and site-specific management in agronomic and horticultural crops using drone and satellite imagery. The start time is flexible, anywhere from Spring to Fall 2025.
The preferred candidates must have relevant knowledge and experience in remote sensing/GIS and AI/ML to operate independently. Applicants with significant experience beyond a BS degree may also be considered, even if they do not hold an MS degree. Required qualifications include a solid understanding of computer programming (beyond beginner level), familiarity with image analysis software, a strong interest in precision agriculture, the ability to learn new concepts quickly, and the capability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
