Description of duties

The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) provide leadership for planning, securing funding, implementing and evaluating a statewide educational program in corn and soybean production that meets the needs of clientele; 2) cooperate and network with county, district and statewide Extension faculty and Experiment Station personnel while working with agricultural producers, agribusinesses, commodity groups, and federal, state, and local government agencies.; 3) organize and deliver effective, timely, research-based Extension deliverables including blog articles, fact sheets, Extension publications, peer reviewed journals, and other appropriate mediums in order to train/educate clientele, and 4) participate in service activities of the Department, College, University, and profession. The expected start date is January 3, 2023.

Candidates who have experience related to corn and soybean production, have demonstrated the ability to obtain extramural funding/grants, and have demonstrated the ability to communicate research-based findings effectively are especially encouraged to apply.

Qualifications sought

Ph.D. in agronomy, crop science or a closely related field; excellent communication skills; ability to travel, work occasional nights and weekends; expertise in crop production, statistical analysis, and modern agricultural practices.
