Summer Research Interns – Invasive Plants with University of Wyoming in Sheridan or Laramie, Wyoming

Description of duties

Provide technical support to multiple research programs at the Sheridan R&E Center and around the state focused on invasive species management and rangeland restoration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Assist with data collection, surveying for invasive weeds, harvesting and processing of forage, some travel in Wyoming will be required. Assisting with research trial layout and implementation, including preparation of materials and supplies.

Qualifications sought

Students studying weed science, rangeland management, agriculture, or natural resources disciplines will have preference, but such discplines of study are not hard requirements. Good team members who communicate well and follow instructions will be highly considered. Previous experience with plant identification would be viewed highly favorably. Willingness to work in remote locations is preferred.
