Description of Location |
The Regional Product Development Manager is a field-based position in AMVAC’s Midwest Product Development’s Research Region responsible for development and commercialization of new technologies as well as supporting the performance of existing products. It is one of five regional field positions in the Product Development Department. This team is comprised of a nationwide team of advanced degree, life-science and agronomically trained personnel responsible for designing studies to bring new products to market in a broad range of crop and non-crop sectors.
Regional Product Development personnel interact with numerous AMVAC teams in Sales, Marketing, Chemistry, Regulatory and Business Development and provide a unique connection to researchers at academic institutions as well as private and independent research teams to build product performance specifications and investigate new opportunities. |

Description of duties |
- Plan and execute national field research program pursuant to AMVAC’s annual product development objectives with focus on the states of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska.
- Recognize new technologies and opportunities to drive novel commercial products
- Work closely with the Commercial Team to support the current product line and new introductions
- Create strong relationships with key influencers in the region to understand and enhance commercial opportunities affecting speed to market.
- Track and manage regional Product Development operational and research expenses.
- Work with Department peers to synergize implementation of national R&D programs.
- Follow and report on competitive activities within the region.
- Actively participate in key regional and national technical conferences
- Lead the effort to develop product labels, collateral, and other product technical information
- Plan and supervise contract research to ensure high quality data is delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the Regulatory Affairs Department on regulatory questions during the evaluation of new products as well as routine questions on registered products.

- Basic concepts of product development, development planning, and product support

- Organizational skills to address a large, diverse territory
- Use of standard and specialized software for data capture and analysis
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- The candidate should be willing to travel between 30% to 40% of the time. Physical location should be within the research region and proximity to an airport.
