Description of duties

A PhD graduate research assistantship is available at the Weed Science Research Laboratory, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas to develop AI/ML solutions surrounding sensor-based weed recognition. The student will participate in the development of data pipelines and image analysis for a national weed, cover crop, and cash crop image repository currently in development, and also develop novel methods for plant biomass estimation using sensors. Qualifications sought

The preferred candidate must hold or be currently working towards an MS degree in a relevant field. Knowledge of various sensors, familiarity with image analysis softwares, a strong interest in precision weed management, an aptitude to quickly learn concepts, and an ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are a must. The successful candidates should already have a valid driver license or obtain one within 3 months of starting.
