| Description of duties |
A PhD graduate research assistantship is available at the Weed Science Research Laboratory, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas to develop AI/ML solutions surrounding sensor-based weed recognition. The student will participate in the development of data pipelines and image analysis for a national weed, cover crop, and cash crop image repository currently in development, and also develop novel methods for plant biomass estimation using sensors. | Qualifications sought |
The preferred candidate must hold or be currently working towards an MS degree in a relevant field. Knowledge of various sensors, familiarity with image analysis softwares, a strong interest in precision weed management, an aptitude to quickly learn concepts, and an ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are a must. The successful candidates should already have a valid driver license or obtain one within 3 months of starting. Only the shortlisted candidates may be contacted.
