Graduate Research Assistantship in Invasive Bamboo Management in Forestry Systems
Description of Duties
The successful candidate(s) will evaluate different control management strategies (including fire and
herbicides) on bamboo growth, the impact of bamboo on tree growth and biodiversity, and the
economic implications of bamboo management. Candidates with prior experience of writing and publishing research articles in reputed journals will be given preference. Closing date is October 31, 2024, but applications will continue to be accepted until positions are filled.
Masters Degree in any weed science/natural resource/ecology or closely related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required. Relevant research experience in lab, greenhouse, and in the field is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to engage in physical fieldwork under various environmental conditions.
