Research Agronomist

Description of Duties

This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Soil Management & Sugarbeet Research in Fort Collins, CO or Akron, CO. In this position, you will be responsible for applying precision integrated weed management systems so that economic, productivity and environmental outcomes are optimized and sustained in dryland farming systems. Anticipate needs, develop knowledge, and provide technological solutions to the challenges facing dryland production and resource conservation under a changing climate. Apply precision integrated weed management systems so that economic, productivity and environmental outcomes are optimized and sustained in dryland farming systems. Require close coordination of the incumbent’s weed management research with dryland production research to improve water, soil, and nutrient management. Coordinate closely with scientists from diverse disciplinary backgrounds who are pursuing the sustainable management of crop, livestock and range resources in the Great Plains and Intermountain West
